God does not tempt, but rather, “we are led away by our own lust and tempted.”
So, we pray, “Lord lead me away from temptation”, “give me grace to endure temptation”, help me to recognize it and avoid it.” “Deliver me from the circumstance, the occasion that brings evil and give the strength and desire to run from it. “There hath no temptation taken you, but God is faithful and just to give you a way to escape” Are we alert to the many temptations around us? Be aware, Satan prowls around seeking people who will submit to evil. God, deliver me!
1 Corintians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
