The Craziest Of Times The Happiest Of Times

Tale of Two Cities

It’s the craziest of the times and it’s the happiest of times to modify a quote from A Tale of Two Cities.  You know there’s a lot going on right now.  Everyone I talk to, believers and unbelievers the like, all say something seems off.  Peculiar. Not right.  It’s like we all have this inner radar that has gone off and it senses something is about to happen.  Up is down, down is up and good is being called evil and evil is being called good (Isaiah 5:20). To the believer in Jesus, it’s the hope that he will soon come and take his people home, but to the unbeliever their hope is in government and science.  They think man can solve the world’s problems; but only Jesus can solve our problems right now.

The truth is the problems in store for the world here and now and in the near future are going to be beyond what man can solve.  There’s a war between good and evil brewing at the moment.  The wicked will not understand but the wise will understand (Daniel 12:10).

If you trust in Jesus, you might be a little afraid or stressed out by what you see but just know that Jesus is going to win in the end.  We should comfort one another with this (1 Thessalonians 4:17:18).

If you know and trust Jesus, there’s nothing that can separate us from him (John 5:24).  Don’t be afraid.  It’s all going as God’s word has told us. We might have to put up with a little stress and discomfort but there’s no reason to throw our hands up in the air except to praise God.

Verses for the day:

Daniel 12:10 – Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

1 Thessalonians 4:17:18 – Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Timothy 3:1-9But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.

Isaiah 5:20 – Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

John 5:24 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
